Dear Parents,
We have a very packed week ahead of us with a field trip Thursday and Spring Fling Friday! As we head into our final week of school before Spring Break, when we get back, I hate to say it, but the time will just FLY by!
This week, we have a review week in language arts. We are reviewing f, h, s. We will introduce two new sight words, an and you. In math, we will wrap up our unit on weight & capacity.
We have really been enjoying our science unit on Wood & Paper! Last week we had the chance to make paper mache, as well as our own paper by creating our own paper pulp, then drying it. This week, we will be taking apart boxes (thanks for all the donations!) and looking at their original shapes. It is truly a great hands-on unit.

For the field trip Thursday, please remember to send your child in the Great White Shark t-shirt. You may need to have your child wear a shirt underneath for warmth. Also, please pack a disposable snack in a paper bag. Please write your child's name visibly on the bag. Please also send your children in good walking shoes, as we will be walking around the farm.
We have Spring Fling this Friday, of course. Thank you again for answering the call for help!! I believe all items are now covered, but if anyone else would like to join us for the day, feel free to do so. Thanks again.
I Love to Read calendars for March are now due. Please turn them in with tomorrow's Red Bags. Red Bags will not go home this Wednesday due to the upcoming vacation week.
This week's sharing is Homemade Item. Please have your children bring in something they've made or decorated themselves, and be prepared to tell a bit about how they did the project. Thursday & Friday children can share any day this week.
A reminder again that we've set the date for Muffins with Mom (May 9 @ 10:30). Please come join us for this important event!
There is a change to the helper calendar-- the week of April 25th, we will no longer need center helpers. We will be doing "Kindergarten Round-Up," that week, where we do our pre-assessments on the incoming kindergartners to assist us in balancing the classes. However, we may need a volunteer or two that week for some special art projects. Thank you for your flexibility. We also won't be doing centers on the day of our Muffins with Mom event.
