We are beginning an exciting unit this week, our butterfly unit! We will have live caterpillars coming to our classroom later this week that we will observe as they transform into butterflies. We will begin this unit by reading Eric Carle's The Hungry Caterpillar, and recreating our own version of the book.
This Week in Class
Phonics Focus: "Bossy R" (r-controlled vowels) ar
Sight Words: run & into
Math: Decomposing numbers in the teens into a 10 and more
Theme: Butterflies
Butterfly Unit
When we receive our caterpillars, we will be studying all the stages of the life cycle of the butterfly. The butterfly theme will encompass our reading, our science, our writing, our art, and even our math!
Art Vistas
This Wednesday, we will do our next Art Vista lesson on houses. As I did last time, I will push out this lesson as part of our SeeSaw work. There will not be an assignment in Raz-Kids this week due to the Art Visa lesson. This lesson will have simple supplies: white paper, a pencil, and colored pencils, crayons, or markers. Just like last time, there is no need to return the artwork your child makes to the classroom. Simply upload a photo of their work to SeeSaw using the "multipage" button-- I'd love to see their creations!
